I am about to buy a grow tent a.k.a Budbox, but I need to know what the best system is for these tents. I have 15 White Widow seeds from Sensi seed bank in Holland & I really do need some advice as what to do after the initial germination phase...correct feeds, etc & do you recommend soil or rockwool?

Any advice would be most appreciated as I don't want to waste the total amount I have spent on seeds (109 euros inc p&p) & grow tent (£120) so I want to make sure I'm set up right. Also just before I finish I have very limited space & the grow tent will be in my bedroom which is only approx 10 x 7 (feet) sorry UK member here!

Can anyone suggest correct wattage bulb to use for a enclosed space of 1.2 x 1.2 x 2Meters ?? & Can I use a 250w bulb as part of the seedling/veg stage?

what 250w house hold bulb no.. 250w flouro yes i think so..

Thanks for that - what is generally a good wattage bulb (Sodium or MH) for indoor growth/flowering in such a enclosed space? Would 600w be too powerful for say 4 - 6 plants? Or would a 400w be about right?

Any help appreciated please we are in the grip of a serious drought here in the UK & I for one have had enough of paying for low quality crap for my own personal use so I want to do this properly...

Hi mate, I to use and have had great success with a budbox ill post a few pics at the end.Had a few probs at the beginning with enviroment control but that was more down to me not knowing what i was doing lol.Best advice i can give is get everything your gonna need in the first place it will help alot..

1) Get a good 600 watt hps just the 1. i personally dont think you can have more..temp and humidity probs otherwise..to hot and dry.

2)Get a good reflector..i started off with the cheap one i got with the ballest..i now use an Adjustawing much better spreads the light and HEAT more evenly..

3)Get an inline fan that is more than good enough for the tent size and if you can get another one a little smaller do so...you want to put the big one sucking out the hot air at the top and the smaller one pulling in fresh air at the bottom..I put my carbon scrubber outside the tent as you will be stuck for room in there.

4)your gonna need a humidifier for the first couple of weeks when your plants are little because until the plants get a bit bigger and breath a little bit it will be really dry in there and theres danger that your plants may suffocate in the heat bearing in mind you cant lift the light to high as they will stretch...you will see what i mean..

5) I use canna nutes and swear by them there top of the pops in europe but i dont think many use them in the states...Canna Substra Vegga, Canna Substra Flores..Canna pk 13\14 Canna boost... follow the instructions on the back cant go wrong...there are other nutes out there to be fair but canna works for me.

The tents are great if like me your a bit short on room i say get one heres a few pics AK in progress.. so you can see for yourself... hope this helps good luck..

Thanks for your reply, what you have set up is exactly what I had in mind, I have the tent ordered & some good grade seeds on the way , just a few questions...deep breath.., What lamp did you have the seedlings under after they germinated? was it a lesser wattage like a fluro, or did you stick with the 600w hps during the whole process?..as I have read that you can use the hps for the seeding they just drink more & grow quicker?.. I was also mainly considering using a soil mix as opposed to Rockwall, would you recommend Rockwall Vs Soil? And I was also wondering on electric consumption rates as we pre-pay if you know what I mean We get through approx £12 a week on electric with usual home appliances running, what can I expect the bill to shoot up to do you reckon? Sorry for all the Q's I just wanna be clear on everything before I even start germinating! Please excuse me if I bombared you with questions I have done quite a bit of research already but none were in a budbox/grow tent environment so any help would be gratefully received... Cheers fella

hello to you i to am here in the uk and looking at what you r askin is just what i wanted to konw as well i have not got n e gear as yet but will b doin in the next 3 week. i was lookin to spend £400 no a full setup will keep in tuch if thats ok with you.

I use a 200 watt cfl for my seedlings and clones and moms in a seperate box thingy i built..dunno about a 600 watt hps you would have to be careful...
Dont know alot a soil but theres plenty here that do.I use a card meter and with a 200 watt cfl 600 watt hps two inline fans a heater....about 8 pounds a week.. 6oo watt is the most cost effective bulb for lumens and money ideally you want an mh for veg hps for flower if u can only get one get an hps..More light equals more bud thats why we do it....

OK thanks for the advice, here's some more damn questions...! I can just buy one ballast right & alternate the bulbs from MH to HPS when needed? Don't really wanna buy 3 sets of lights I have very limited space like yourself.

When I start the seedling I know about the germination process so I got that covered, I think I will go with Rockwool as I know they hold more water than soil & generally make your plants grow quicker? So when you have germinated the seedi you put in what? a little cube of rockwool with any added nutrients? or just teppid/distilled water on its own? I shall start posting pics of my progress when I get going properly, so far I only have the seeds, & tent just need the fans, carbon filter, ph tester, nutrients, rockwool, possibly a nutrient meter?, you say you swear by canna nutes? I'll google it & get some as your plants look nice & healthy! Can this be used from start to finish (i.e seedlings to flowering) Thanks for all your help thus far much appreciated.

p.s What strain of skunk are you growing?
