so im on day 19 for the budding, 12/12 on a hps. the plant is lookin good, i cant count all the buds in one sitting, im wondering if i could cut down just a lil bit of the shade leaves?

Im going to bud until march 1st if all goes well and i can stand smokin the garbage thats in my town now.....there are buds all the way down the stalks but im wondering if they could do better if they recieve more direct light....you can see how my hand dissapears in the bush, and i have rather large hands at that.....

Any help/comments are always welcome... how's she lookin?

150watt.......

your plant looks so healthy... if you want to get the big bubs I would go to a 400-600-1000 watt hps then fasen your seat belts

Don't trim fan leaves, the plant uses them for carbohydrate and hormone production and you risk slowing the growth down. If you want to get more light penetration to lower bud sites get a bigger light or start low stress training the branches.

cool, unfortunately i cant do much for the bigger light, VERY limited space wise but i was tying the plant down before she started buddin, i need a better setup to keep her in complete darkness, now i have to build a "tent" every night and break it down every morning b4 work.....

Is there a huge difference in the power draw from a 150wt as opposed to a 300 or better? is it as simple as = (2) 150wt
If so then i can put the plant in another area, have one 150 on either side???
It wouldnt be over top but pretty high up...

It's slightly more than double, because you have to make allowance for the wattage the ballast uses. If you know the amperage draw of the 150w ballast, simply multiply it by your voltage, presumably 120 if you're in the US and that will give you the full wattage of the 150w system. Then double it, for both of them.

I saw somewhere that a 150w HPS draws 1.7 amps, so that would use 1.7 x 120v = 204 watts of electricity. So two of them would use 408 watts of electricity. In comparison a 250w HPS would draw 2.5 amps and a 400w 3.8. Not hard to see that you'd be better of upgrading to a higher wattage HPS.
