this doesn't answer my question really i want to now does the lumens matter the most is that what i want to be the highest for flowering cuzz i am useing 40watt sunshine flourescent lights with 2250 lumens color temp 5000k do i want better then that for flowering cuzz i herd lower the light output lower the yield u will get for your plant
The more lumens the bigger the buds, i use 3 heolgen lamps that puts out 1000watts

lumens and spectrum is what you want to look for, you want to get more lumens per watt of electrcity used. you want to go by both... thats the best answer i can give..
think of it this way, do you want a light that uses 1000watts of elec and puts out 5000 lumens.. or a CFL thats 42 watts that puts out 2900.. the answer is obvious. with enough Compact Floros you can flower good, the tubes will give you a bad yield. an HPS is more desirable, but it gives off heat, and costs more. but a 400w hps puts out 50,000 + lumens.
You want a more blue spec for vegging, and orange/red spec for flowering. white both can work all the way through, those give the most optimal results
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
this link was handed down to me, hope it helps on ur buying
quick info, the table kinda gives u an idea to look at
God made weed, man made alcohol which do you trust?
While the lumens measurement is based on the sensitivity of the human eye to light, PAR Watts objectively measure the total watts of Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) emitted by the lamp. It accounts for the nutritional value and is a direct measure of light energy available for all-important plant photosynthesis.
