I had a quick question I hoped you all budmasters could answer for me.

Will smaller, lighter-colored seeds (not like the big darker, striped ones ive seed on seed sites) be able to germinate?? If so, i'd like to introduce myself to the community

K, I'm just going to suppose they DO germinate. Here's my status thus far

- I have 4 seeds germinating right now

- bought my soil, planting cups, etc for the initial vegetative stage

- went to the hardware store today looking for the proper lights (without draining my wallet). I decided to go with four 100w soft white heat bulbs. Are these considered CFL?? Does the box have to say CFL?? I looked for a quite a while, but couldn't find any with that specific label. They had some HPS lights but they were 35 bucks, so I said "fuck that, I don't even know if these seeds are going to work"

- I don't wanna barge in with a bunch of stupid questions that I don't even need to worry about yet, but am I going the right direction? kind of?

man i would go with hps. i have a 140 watt i believe and it works great. i heard hps can penetrate leaves better then any other light so that ever leave is getting light and you wont have ot trim unless you wanna

If its CFL, it will probably be quite tube shaped and alien looking. It will generally say 'Energy Saving' on it too. Light seeds have a lower chance of germinating for sure, give them the old squeeze and see what happens.

Try typing in the model number off the bulb and google it. Then you can get the specs on it. Compare that to reliable color spectrum graph thingy and see if it matches the proper color ranges?

But then I am a newb.

CFL's are the spiral looking ones. They don't look like a regular "bulb" shape if that helps any. Also, they say 100w equivilent or something. Actual watts used is lower.
