Talking will my plant grow taller while flowering????

I recently got some bubblicious seeds and am attempting my first project. My growing area is 2x3x5tall. Do plants grow much taller when you change the light cycle to 12/12???? I'm wondering how tall to let them vegetate before I start flowering...I will be flowering with 2 150 watt hps bulbs and am worried about toasting the tops of my babies. If they do get too close to my lights, can i just clip some off the top....Just saying that makes me cringe.......EVERYONE BACK AWAY FROM THE CANNABIS AND PUT THE CLIPPERS DOWN SLOWLY...KEEP YOUR HANDS WHERE I CAN SEE'EM..LOL

no pics ....my seeds havent cracked yet....Ive read so many threads in the last week that I feel I should have a PHD in cannabis....I just didnt see anywhere on the net discuss the rate of growth during flowering stage....now I am confident that my first attempt will be a stellar success...No Problems

they will double or triple in size depending on the plant.

then you should get good growth during flowering like 2-3 times like everyone is saying
