Here's a question that definately fits the heading "Newbie." I've got five Jock Horror (Nirvana strain) doing nicely. They've been on 18 hours of a 400 watt metal halide. They went into the soil on Dec. 1, and are now just about a foot tall. When do I switch to 12/12 and prove these chicks dig me?

How big do you want them to get? If they can grow pretty tall, then let them veg for 1-2 months before flowering.

I Would Keep Them Under A Light For 24 Hrs (24/0)... My Plants Always Grew Bigger Much Faster That Way Rather Then 18/0.

I USUALLY FLOWER ONCE MY PLANT HAS SHOWN ITS SEX, BUT IF YOU WANT A BIGGER YEILD YOU CAN KEEP YOUR FLOWER IN VEG FOR AS LONG AS YOU WISH BUT REMEMBER SPACE IS A FACTOR BECAUSE ONCE YOU FLOWER, SUM PLANTS CAN GROW UP TO DOUBLE THERE "VEG" SIZE.

From seed you have to be 5 nodes tall at least.You figure it by how much height you have as an indica strain will double in height when it goes into flower and a sativa will triple to quadruple in height so a 12 inch indica will finishe around 2-3 feet and a 12 inch sativa will finish 3-4 feet when flowered.So you take that figure and deduct it from the height of your grow area minus the light hanging distance

A plant wont show sex until it flowers so not sure how to wait for sex to show if your vegging?? I also do 24 hours on veg and then when you go 12/12 in 7-10 days they show sex usually sometimes can be longer or shorter
