Default drainage problem.. please help
Well it appears that i have not put enough perilite in my soil to help drainage. Is it possible to spoon some of the soil out, like make 2 holes about 8" deep, on either side of the pot and fill with the perilite? or will that only help drainage in those 2 spots? What else can I do? I would rather not have to repot.

How big of a "problem" do you actually have? Because if it's not going to kill your plants, I'd say leave it alone. You go drilling holes and trying to repair something like this and you're gonna end up damaging roots and shocking the shit out of your plant. I can't imagine a drainage problem so severe that it would warrant trying to fix like that, but maybe you did something totally newb and used like clay instead of soil or something?

If you can, let it go and chaulk it up to experience. There's always next time.

it becomes very serious to some, as they get overwatered they are overfed and LOCKUP the plants simply stop using water from the soil. to most a simple problem get so serious that the plants actually die!

Ya abs, well that's what I meant. You describe a situation that would warrant evasive action. And this guy's situation might be one of those!

But this dude didn't give us any background, and he used the phrase "enough perlite", which to me implies he's got some in there. Assuming he has holes in the bottom of his pots and is using a reasonably loose potting soil mix, life can't be all that bad.

We assume they use good soil bud more often than not its MUD or CLAY from the yard.

if you look deep in my threads you find i FIX the BEST soil on the market.... Even Foxfarms locks me out.....

i used fox farms with soilless mix and perlite

amending the soil with these turbo charges the roots with air, however more air less moisture retention. at best in a 3.5 gallon pot these plants will need 1 gallon every other day. Right now they get half that. healthy roots keep healthy canopies.
