What is better 12 plants in 1 gallon pots or a 20 gallon soilesd bed?

My grow room is rather small its 60 inch high 63 inch long and 19 inches deep i am trying to get the most out of my space. So its narrowed down to four 5 gallon pots or 12 1 gal pots or 2 20 gallon with 12 plants sharing ea storage buckets. All will be under 600 watts leds in canna coco medium. Which will give me the most yield? With an 1 month vegg on indica clones.

I would say your first 2 options are more plausible. The plants might start fighting for root space if placed altogether. The space sounds narrow and I'm not sure what type of footprint the light will have in that kind of space so I would go with the 4 5 gallon pots. I'm also pretty new to this so this is really just my opinion

Keep the plants in seperate pots. If you have an issue with one plant, it's a lot easier to just pick it up and move it. If one of your plants hermies, you'll wish they were in their own pots. Also, you don't want them fighting for nutrients and choking out the smaller plants. I can sit here and name many reasons, but the best I think for you to consider is turn around time. The bigger the pot, the fewer the plants and the longer you'll need to veg. By using one gallon pots, you can force flower early on and grow a single cola per pot. This works exceptionally well with cloning.

Yeah i'm a newbie to da max as well, i only started growing my own medicine begining of this year, but you dont ever want to put multiple seeds in the same pot. Doing so maeks them strangle eachother for root space, to survive they actually try to choke eachothers roots out. its not good and usually leaves one plant too tiny or causes its roots to die and rot and then you get higher risk of disease in the survivor.

I'd do 4 5 gallon pots myself but I got plant limits here.

very nicely laid out, so sharing pots is out the window, how long of a veg if i decide to roll with 12 clones or 12 feminized seeds? And can they match up to 4 5gal pots vegged a long time?

yea my foot print is like 36 inches if my lights are low but if i pull it up towards the top it can cover everything but i loose alot of intensity.

my first indoor grow is finishing up in soil, 3 5 gallon pots vegg for a month and a week, yields looks dissapointing although they still have 2-3 weeks left. The strain is kush and i got a shit load of femized seeds im more interested in the 12 1 gallon method. My limit is 6 but my grow is combined with my brothers medical cards so i can have up to 18 if i like.

i would agree with SERAPIS and choose the gallon pots.

lots of little single cola clones SOG style .

Grow a mother for 4-6 weeks clone her and bang 20 in there in the 1 gallon pots small 6inch max when you switch to 12/12 they should finish around 15inches and pull between 1/4-1/2 ounces (lower estimate) from each plant possibly 5-10 ounces from all 20.

You could possibly pull more weight depending on your skill level.
