Default Light comparison?

OK so i went to the store and bought a halogen light that puts out 1275 lumens but is 100w. now my lamp can only contain 60 watt. i tried testing the bulb and it had gotten extermely hot and started to smell is this normal with halogen lights? Also i had bought a 60 watt plant light. are these recomended? unfortunately it didnt give me any lumens. So witch light is best?

well i hooked up my 60 watt plant light that i bought overnight. and turns out that the 2 leaves are starting to erect towards the bulb. this is good correct? the bulb is coated in a sorta blueish purpleish tint will this work?

the box is very plain. made from GE type A19 60 watts and 1000 hours estimated life

i have the same light only in 75w. when i tested it it did get pretty warm but it dident smell. it works great for my 1 plant. showed better resukts in days. good bulb for someone with a "tight" budget and cant have a high electric bill.
