I dont know why this idea just popped in my head- but it did, and Id like to share.
Currently, I am not in a position that allows me to grow (dorm living, and ill be living at home over the summer). But I am preparing and reading up on what I need to know, so im ready when I move into my own place with a few friends (who toke as much as I do). It will be a perfect environment to grow in, especially since each of my roomates will also be growing. Anyway, the idea I had was... is there any animal that can live with a plant that is grown in an aquarium that wont harm it? Like a small snake or something. I was thinking that keeping an animal in the aquarium would be a great way to disquise the lights and fan, and take the focus off of the plant, and put it on the animal- in the event someone were to ever see it and they shouldnt. Im not sure Im explaining this right- but think of it this way... A 50gallon aquarium with 2 plants for decoration, a large lamp,a reptile maybe and a small fan would be MUCH more low-key than a traditional grow setup, dont you think? I just dont know if there is an animal that wouldnt harm the plant... |

do reptile aquariums generally have high RH? I like the results in low RH conditions? and a pot plant is a pot plant is a pot plant....its pretty tell tale and widely known for its growth charateristics....I expect a snake would work....but.....wouldn't the light intensity also be raqther bothersome for the snake? or whatever animal....these lights...to grow properly are damn bright....? interesting thought....though...good luck!

i don't think i would do it cause reptiles aren't exactly the cleanest things around. They carry disease and you have to feed them live rodents. plus i wouldn't want the little buggers crapping on my plants!

lol...neet idea but ..yes the light intensity(required for growing a plant worth your while) would be to much for the snake to handle...plus...im pretty sure the pot plants would be the things doing the distraction...everyone knows what a marijuana leaf looks like...and if i saw a tank id go see whats in it ...and id be waaaay more interested in the plant:P....think about it ...what do u do when u see a tank with a light on?? u look for the animal inside it...what do animals do ? they hide. and we look for them...and if you dont see it away you are automatically going to see everything else in the tank
