Hey guys. new here. read the newbie guides, and such, and saw alot of them are on large scale. My situation cannot accomidate this.

i recnetly went and got the dr recomendation, and live with roomates. They are ok with all of this. they are ok with me growing, inside since we rent, and my room obviosly. So, if I did I would probably just clear out a corner of my closet (I am in the master bedroom and have a huge walk in closet. Almost the size of a small bedroom.)

I was planning on just growing a couple plants, my plan was 3 as I figured I could fit 3 large plants in an area where I don't hang any clothes just fine. would this even yield much to be worth doing?

I'm not even sure its worth it.

In the grow guide, it shows lots of different things you need to buy. Are the bulbs recomended the same for low scale operation like this? And, from my reading, it seemed like theres no way to tell if the plant is male or female untill it flowers, so I guess Its guess and see before cloning? (One thing I do understand in the whole process oddly enough)

About how long does it take from planting to smoking?

Where I buy my meds, its about $70 an 1/8th for their high end, which I've been buying, why I'm thinking of growing.

I'm sure most of this has been answered before. And I'm sorry for posting this again if so, but just have so many questions, the task seems so daunting, but I know its worth it in the end. Especially with my favorite new toy, my vaporizer, which evidnetly simply loves homegrown, slightly moist herbs

You will get out of growing exactly what you put into it. I know a poster on another site who grew one plant in an unused walk-in closet, using one, 1000 watt HPS. He grew it just as a test to see what he could get out of one plant if he vegged the hell out of it. Long story short, he harvested 2.5 pounds off of that sucker.

On the clones ... veg the plants out and take clones off of each of them. Number the clones and the plants they came from.Then enter the flowering cycle and as the plants show sex, throw away the males and the corresponding clones.

Dude, please listen. You spend 70 an 8th? thats worse than me and im doing this to save money. i spend 45 an 8th.

A few plants in that area with a small clone opersation will yield you perfect.. here is what i reccommend (because it's what i did) do read my journal and others too. you can get a good 400w hps for 150 ship included in that price. this will be used for flowering and/or growing, you can read more on these hid lights and if you got more money than that, get a mh too. thats the most expensive part of the whole entire operation. unless your buying expensive seeds. my seeds were free in a bag of weed. soil/container/nutes wont run you that much, in the end this will be extremely worth it. read the guides and read around you do need some tools but they are worth it, especially vs paying 70 an 8th. the only thing you will need to rebuy is soil. for a long time anyway.

But what i mean about what i did, is since you have a huge closet anyway, have two chambers (i got a real ghetto veg chamber) and clone your seedlings right before you set 12/12. veg them with floros or something in the veg chamber. label them. when the big girls show, you can kill the males, and their coresponding clones, now you have females flowering and cloned females vegging. after your vegged babies are 12 inches, or as desired, clone them, and then put them in to flower with your other flowering girls. i plant on doing maybe 4 plants each set or less depends on what yields i get off them. anyway you will harvest the older ones before the others are even done and you will add more plants again the same as before. it's your own mini sea of green, thats what im doing and i should smoke me and my brother free for a long time.. if you smoke less you can just harvest 1 plant per month. anyway im rambling cuz im almost over being sick and i can finally actually feel stoned, read the journals, that closet space will satisfy you greatly. asking the question of if it's even worth it to you is null and void. 70 an 8th.. it's REAL worth it.

And, I thought the prices were pretty high, avg is about 65, although they have stuff at the dispensary cheaper, its been really good, and since I started smoking again with the drs rec (Just made me feel more comfortable about doing it. What eases the mind) I havn't been drinking hardly at all, so I'm actually saving money on the endevour lol.

But, this sounds great. Even if I just barely got 1/4 lb a plant, that would last me awhile. hell, a few friends of mine could stop buying with 2 plants.

Been reading your journal, and didn't want to hijack your thread.

Was reading 2 things, the heat, and the smell. How bad is the smell? I wouldn't want it to be noticable in my room, so I'm guessing I'm going to have to do something about that. Whether it be cutting a hole in my cieling (yuck!) and hoooking up a fan to exhaust. I would probably also want to seal off that part of my closet. Maybe I should go buy alot of saran wrap. Looks like this is gonna take some serious planning and setup.

So far for me the ONA gel is doing a terrific job of cancelling odor.
My place smells better than before I was growing grass.

if i had the money i would buy one. because that is your room.. nothing to setup.. you can make your cloest just as good this just makes it easier for you.. just put it in your closet and run your light and fans etc. ps. i highly reccomend that seller. the hps price i gave you came from his 400w hps auctions, the price is 109.something + ship is around 150.

basically the inside walls of this are made to reflect light (not as good as mylar but still good) and keeps light out for when you are flowering (because you dont want any light during your dark peroid.).

Does baking soda work during the early process? I'm guessing the smell gets worse at it grows

My odor isnt bad, i use an ionic breeze and the vent tube from my cardboard box has caron filter stuffed in it (it actually works) my dirty ass littler box dont even smell anymore
