starting short rider autoflower next week-have questions

Plan to start two short rider (hybrid autoflowering) seeds in a week or so and need some info as this will be my first grow. I got some quality soil, I think - Miracle Grow brand that claims to feed up to 6 months with .21% total Nitrogen (has perlite, peat, etc already in mix). Seeds are coming from a bank (Nirvana), along with a grow kit that should help me get the little beauties going. So, my main questions are: is a 2.5 gallon pot big enough for this smaller variety (one plant per pot)? I have one 42 watt CFL (2700 lumens) so far and plan on at least one more. CFLs are the only way I can go, I just need to know how many I will need for my little closet grow. Any veteran growers that can help me out?

I have grown Short Ryder with very poor results, is it me? Maybe. In any event, they are not short, I have one in the basement right now over 3 feet tall and there are no buds on it. That one 42W CFL will only get you to about 8-9 inches then it won't get to the bottom leaves, that is my experience. There are people here who swear by MG but, my results with it were poor at best, once again is it me? Maybe. Good luck with and if it works out for you post your pix, I would like to see how it went.

Thanks for the reply!
I plan to get at least one more of the 42W CFL, and probably a cool white too, since I've read they have more blue spectrum that will help out. I have several reflective panels that will be used to collect and direct the stray light so there is as much coverage as possible from the lights I have. Height won't really be a problem unless it gets over 4-5 feet...but I've read that this autoflower type is usually much smaller, as it slows growth in height when the flowering kicks in on its own at around 3 weeks. I can always add CFLs if I really have to, but I'm only starting two seeds at a time, so there shouldn't be more than two girls to keep happy at once! Do you think the 2.5 gallon pot will be big enough for the plant to make it the 6-8 weeks until harvest? Thats how long the seedbank info gave for maturity on this hybrid - they're supposed to go quick.

I know this is old as hell, but did you ever grow these plants? Any luck? Looking for others who have grown this so I can get some opinions and see their pictures. I'm on day 45 or so, and curious to see where my plant stands compared to others its' age. Anyways - hope you're still around.
