Alright so I germinated one seed using the paper towel method, took about 35 hours for a root tip to crack out. Then I immediately transplanted into a small plastic cup, like a beer cup or party cup with Miracle gro moisture control. And i know you guys will say never use miracle grow but this is just to get her to sprout out of the ground which she hasent done yet. How long will it take for her to break through the surface I planted with the root tip pointing down. And its been about 2 days now. Today is the second day. And Iv'e been watering it very frequent like twice a day. All i need for her to do is sprout up to were the two baby leaves are developed then i will put her in the hempy bucket. So the question is how long will it take for the seedling to sprout out above the surface and am i doing anything wrong?????/

Hey man u should be fine just dont water her until the top of the soil is almost dry not completly dry because it will dry the root out at such a young age. Is it bagseed sometimes the root will sprout but the leaves wont develope it happens alot with bag seed but give it another 3 days if you dont see anything by then it most likely wont pop out of your soil. If it is a bag seed I suggest you purchase some femenized seeds online from attitude or single marijuana seeds canada. They are both good sites I know a couple of people that have ordered from both the sites and had nothing but good results I have witnessed the single marijuana seeds canada site though and my seed worked great and it was shipped in 6 days.

Dude its femenized seeds from attitude seeds. Its Frisian Dew a purple strain from Dutch Passion company. Yeah man thats what I decided to do. I'm not going to water for a day or two, only when the top looks dry but then again I will stick my finger 2 inches deep to see if I feel any moistness. Its been the 3rd day today I will wait another 3 days to see if anything happens. I'm using miracle grow moisture control so I hope thats not the reason why she wont sprout.

4th day today and it has yet to break the surface. Would it be a good idea to go examine the seed? Should I dig up some dirt and see its condition? Its buried at about 1/2 an inch. And hasint been watered for about a day and a half soil is still damp. I fear it has developed root rot from over watering the first two days.

I dig my seeds up after 2-3 days.

Just be very careful, I use an unbent paperclip and gently push dirt aside until I see the top of the seed.

Make sure your not sufficating them either. Seedlings have just enough strength in them to remove their shell casing. The soil directly above your seed should be very light and not compressed or heavy on the seedling.

It might be a good idea to take a look at the seed but remember, be careful and don't let it sit in light too long. I might take upto a week to break thru depending how deep you planted it as well as the overall quality of the seed. OH yeah, and seriously cut back on the watering. Like every 2 or 3 days at most.

Hmm, well my decision is made I will just wait another 2-3 days to see if anything will happen maybe even 4 days. If I dont see it break through the surface I will dig it using a paper clip as superbak3d suggested. And will water it every 2 days when soil is very dry. I'm really hoping it sprouts by tomorrow.

I germinate mine for 24-48 hours until the tap root is about 1/2 -3/4" long, then I plant them root down in damp soil, they usually sprout the next day or day after.

It "was" growing outside but I went looking for it in the cup and I couldint find it. And yes I looked through the soil very well. I think it just decomposed from when I over watered it and just died. I couldint spot the seed any where I dumped out all the soil on a foam plate and couldint find it. either i overlooked which I highly doubt because I would have spotted the white root tip Or it just decomposed and turned into little particles now mixed with the soil. I germinated another seed today with a napkin. This time I won't overwater.

Try rockwool cubes. It's a little easier to work with and retains a lot of the oxygen
