Im in veg, but im getting ready for flowering. im running 6 t12 fluorescents, 3 of the agrosun, 3 regular. what affordable CFLs put out the most flowering light? im thinking of making a rack of like 5 cfls in a board of wood and hanging it over my plant, i have the 48" fluorescents vert

that is like my set up but i have the 4 foot over my plants and one cfl for side lighting

You will want a spec of 2700K for the flowering and If you only have one plant and what a good yield the more light the beter. How many lumens does that bulb have. It would be best to have a min of 10,000 for a greater yield.

What you might want to do is get 5 Y spilters and 10 23w 1600 lumen cfls 2700k, you can get this stuff at walmart. the Y-S are about $1 and you can get 10 bulbs for under 20 bucks. If you can get the bigger watt/lumens thats great.

If you get the 10 cfl 23w 1600 lumens bulbs this will give you 230w total and 16000 lumens.

The good thing about cfl is that they are small and do not produce a lot of heat so you can bring the lights closer to the plants, the bad thing is that you don't get nearly the amount of lumens per watt that you will get with a hps.

This is why I use cfls in the veg and use hps in the flower. I use a 600w hps system and get about 85000-90000 lumes. So if I tried to get the same output from the cfls I would have to use 56 23w 1600 lumen bulbs and if x the 56 x 23w =1288watts.

So the out come is you will have to use twice as much energy wattage wise with the cfls.

There is a 42 watt CFL from GE called an Energy Miser that is 2700K. These bulbs I think are available at HD and they are available from Walmart.

Some people say they found the 2700K on the package. Other people say they did not find it. I discovered the info at ge.com, Home Lighting section.

I was just at Home Depot a few hours ago buying lights LOL and they didn't have any 2700s that I could see...only 1300 which is what I bought
