Default What supplements do I need?

I've been doing some scanning for the nutrients and before I knew it I found myself confused. I understand that I will need a grow and a bloom nutrient solution but what else? Also, my seedlings are showing signs of heat damage as well as nutrient deficiency(when I got home today there were no signs of growth and the leaves are starting to droop). Is there anything out there that will bounce back my plants? On the heat issue I put a fan in there and I'll be leaving the closet door open. I need some pointers on the whole nutrient deficiency thing. Any pointers are much appreciated.

Nutrients are basically elements. nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) are the main nutrients, you also micro nutrients.

Plants need different levels of these nutrients at different stages in life (hence the need for a 'grow' and 'bloom' solution)

Pick whatever nutes you want, look up reviews to make your decision but it's all pretty simple really.

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=11688 check out that thread for nute deficiencies.

By adding nutrients you will most likely get rid of your deficiency problem.

Also note that your water has to have the correct pH level in order for the nutrients to be used by the plant. If your pH level is too high or too low, your plant won't use certain nutrients resulting in a deficiency. (look at the thread linked for more info)

PM me if you got more questions and nobody answers them dude

if there seedlings i would use a nice soil like fox farm ocean forest or light warrior. They have the nice basic nutrients for the seedlings and shouldnt need but one or two feeds till you start budding
    * my buddy swears by the miracle grow moisture control soil for seedlings as he says it has all the nutes for the veg state but people dont like it becuz of the time released nutes.
o ya and dont over feed believe me less is more, start at about 1/2 or even 1/4 strength of the nute and gradually work up. ive gotten some nasty nute burn and it doesnt look nice =x
    happy growing

Hey thanks for the tips/pointers guys I really appreciate it. I got my baby's going nicely now. I went with general hydroponics flora bloom, grow, and micro and they've bounced back nice. From what I read on a sticky I think I had a deficiency in cal/mag. Here's a pic of them now. One plants really weird looking, as if it's been mutated on a nuclear level or something, it looks retarded, but it's growing. They look pretty good considering that it's my first grow and I've been doing a lot of experimenting with light, water, nutes, etc, etc. Also, + rep to both of ya. This post has been sitting here collecting dust for the longest time. I'm you guys finally answered. I CAN'T WAIT TO SMOKE THESE JOCK HORROR BITCHES!!!!!!

Cal/mag deficiencies are most commonly caused by bad pH. In soil your pH needs to be at 6.5-6.8. Otherwise the nutrients will be locked out. (no problem in going to 7.0 but I like to keep it in that small range).

Also note that R/O (Reverse Osmosis) water will have no calcium or magnesium in it. So most growers using R/O water are adding Cal/Mag

Congrats on the fan leaves, and as I said in the +rep you can go ahead and PM me if you have any questions. The only stupid question is the question that is left unasked.

I've been rocking 5.8 solid throughout since it's a hydro application. I think I goofed up by using a whole lemon when soaking the rockwool cubes (1 lemon for each cube). Yeah I know, it sounded dumb when I was doing it too, but I said f it. IDK, I'd say that caused nute lockout due to the fact the cubes were too acidic? In any case I'll be sure not too use so much next time. Also, i know that R/O is a form of filtration, but is all water treated via R/O or do you buy this specifically?
