Lighting set up tips for new cali grow

Hey guys, I know this has been discussed as I've read a bunch of threads over the last couple weeks but I thought I'd throw this out here as it's not just what kind that I'd like to check out but also where to get them.

So right now i'm leaning towards flourescents as the cost is a semi-factor, I don't want a huge electric bill but most importantly because it seems atleast for the veg period they are the easiest for TOTAL newbs like myself and due to their low heat emissions I don't really have to worry about vents/fans etc while i'm still totally small small small time. I have a couple top notch starters from a super close friend of mine, one is White Rhino and the other is Chocolope (hope I spelled that right) I am currently using a bandaid of 32watt cool white flourescents but I wanted to pick up the replacements today. Where is the best place to get something today as far as quality and cost? I was thinking home depot, getting one of their high output flourescent setups that was something like 110 watt per bulb (I believe this is one of the energy saver that compares to 110 watt using much less, but I'm not totally sure...) and produces 8800 lumens. They are cool white and I believe 4100k. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best place to shop i.e. H.D, Lowes or wherever? Is 4100k correct or should I be getting the 6200k? I am pretty sure cool white's are the way to go. Can anyone get me links to the actual fixture and bulbs they'd reccomend online from one of these stores that i'd be able to find locally and pick up local, worst case have them order for me to pick up? Any help would be appreciated!!! THNX yall an happy smokin. :joint:

Editing now to add a pic of the lil guys... LOL I know i'm a total newb, but these little guys have been through a lot including a 1.5k mile drive accidently knocked over, plus the shock of going from 90k lumens to currently around 5k on my little band-aid setup :) I am doing my best so please don't clown lol I'm quite sensitive...

What and which isn´t my business, but 6500k for growth, torwards 2700k for flowering. So your is a mixed one, guess it could work well enough.

However, I read and read these light threads and I can´t stop wondering if people in general doesn´t understand that 200W is always 200W, 600W the same.... Just a thought, reminds me of the question "Which is heavyest? 1kg feathers or 1kg of lead? Agreeing with you in another thread!)

I think most should choose their lights on what they need, not what everyone else has......

But as someone told me, give those babies some light :)

I'm not sure if I understand that quite right, but I think you are referring to how dude is trippin off his two lights, thinking that 150 watts (approx) is really going to change his bill lol... Yeah i'm not sure what was up w that, I wasn't trying to be rude, I was actually happy to see someone who is more paranoid than I :) If you were talking about his 500 watt setup actually using far less, more like 150 watts, I totally understand that watt usage is what it is but the reason for the difference in his case is because the cfl's are trying to be energy efficient by claiming a 22/23 watt bulb is a replacement for a 100 watt bulb just for example, his two bulbs are 200 and 300 watt replacements that actually use 20 something percent of that amount.

Im tired, and I've been reading 24 hours straight, so hopefully I don't sound like a total fucktard lol.

Also I am glad that you are confirming the 6k+ kelvin for growth, I was fkn stuck on the 4100k for some damn reason who know why... I currently have two dual 32 watt fleurescents as my light source for two babies (about 12-18 inches tall) but this is not my perm setup... As I was saying, I think I want to stay with fleur's but I know I need much higher watt/lumens and I was looking for a reccomendation on the specific fixture/balast whatever you want to call the damn thing you screw the bulbs into, that I can pick up from a local Home Depot/Lowes/whereverthehell and have set up today. I have found one that supports High Output 110 watt for each bulb that gives out 8800 lumens each bulb but I'm not sold yet, and it was quite pricey... Oh that's probably what you were talking about, duh, when you said whatever the amount of watts it says is what it is... LOL, my bad. Yeah I got confused as the 32's I bought said energy savers, but in fact they were referring to the fact that ALL of these 32 watt tubes are 40 watt tube replacement, therefore they are all energy savers lol... whatever it takes to sell a lightbulb I guess. Anyways so if you have any reccomendations, or if anyone else does on something that I can go out and get today that will give me a better light (watt & lumen) rating than what I have set up temporarily please lmk... ;)
