| | Right on guys, the only reason i voted yes was because Humboldt has some wicked plants for being under the CFL! Just remember when those CFL's go out, dispose of them properly! |

| | I think it's a great idea. I think a lot of would-be growers might benefit from stumbling onto a CFL section. When they post and get replies from people that say things like "naw, don't bother. You're wasting your time unless you go MH/HPS", John the aspiring grower might decide not to bother. A lot of people out there would love to grow, but are easily discouraged by their budget or space constraints, and a dedicated forum might show them that people who put it together in a worse situation made it out with great results. As far as I am concerned, more people growing = good.

Oo-rah from the class of '67! | You are definitely entitled to your own opinion I respect that, and by no means do I want to be looked at as a CFL missionary trying to convert the world. I just personally like them and would enjoy a forum dedicated to them, its that simple. Thanks for your service brother may you reap all the rewards life has to offer. |

| | i think even the CFL haters would like the idea since it would get us CFL'ers out of their forums asking 'stupid' questions. |

| | A must have. | | I think this is a great idea. Not all of us have the loot to spend money on metal halides and high pressure sodium fixtures. A forum just dedicated to Cfl's and Flouros is a must have. A must have for the grower on a budget.

| | actually a 70-150w hps lamp is pretty cheap, around 75$, thats about the price of a good set up for cfls considering youll have to rig up some fixture and then buy some y socket extensions. i checked my total cfl build and it ended up costing the same as 150w hps lamp for about 150w of cf lighting. cfl's only seem cheaper cause you can buy one bulb and run it then keep adding more when needed, thats when it adds up. cfl's do have other advantages though but price isnt really one of them unless you run a micro setup. |

| | Great idea, especially as newbie central is often overloaded with cfl questions. CFL growers are generally inexperienced (sorry to any professional cflers) and it would be a good place to find solutions to frequently encountered problems. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
