New to this but now i'm hooked. Was wondering....got a 4x4 flower room for "nighttime" my question is when you're vegging at 24 hrs light is it necessary for the plants to be in a light-tight room(the 4x4) inside a light-tight grow room (bedroom). Or can i just hang the mh over the plants in the bedrooom without building another 4x4. Using panda film to line the 4x4 did the same for veg period (4x4) but is it necessary if i'm at 24 hrs light and do not need a night cycle. Makes sense that you'd "hold" in the light but does it make a difference ? Also i read that hps is the way to go from start to finish. i have 1 of ea now (400w hps/mh)
Does anyone know the pro's cons of going with hps all the way as opposed to vegging under mh and flowering under hps when i go 12/12

i use hps all the way it just makes the veg cycle a little bit longer they dont veg as fast
as they did before my mh ballast burned out but im buying another one just using my hps for now

mh and hps give off different colour specrrum so if you have both bulbs use ure mh for veg and ure hps for flowering

is it necessary to have the room within a room for vegging.

welcome to the forum. I'm a little confused by your question. I'll try to answer what I think you are asking. The reason for making a light tight room is so others don't see the bright lights when the plants are in the vegging stage. In the flowering stage you want the room light tight so light doesn't leak into the room. You want 12 hours of total darkness. If it doesn't matter n your situation that other folks could see some light then no problem, what's going to happen, confuse them into vegging some more? VV
