im using a PC fan its doing the trick. just get some wire, strip it, stick 1 to red 1 to black, forget the yellow. then get a charger for something like a drill or an electrical item that needs charging. most say on them what they put out , you can use any DC 0-12V but its the Ma that effects speed. they dont spin both ways , so if it aint working your + and - is round the wrong way. the trick is with the plug on the charger , you need to use one with a hole in it like the ones on headphones or the you stick in the back of your PC for the sound. you can kinda bend a wire and stick it in the hole and the other one you wrap round the metal of the plug. helps if you have wire that stays in place.

Or you can simply cut that end off and splice the wires together which is what I did. Just be sure and use electrical tape on the connections so as to avoid hazards.

Mind you I too am a newb in the growing game so I am extremely appreciative of this post. The one thing I was missing in my grow chamber was a fan (using fluros so heat wasn't a big issue). Even though I didn't have heat issues, I still wanted a fan blowing on my girls to help them strengthen. When I read this thread I was very happy. I have a couple of old PC's laying around so I pirated a fan, cut the end off of an old cell phone charger, spliced the wires and Viola! Now my girls are a little cooler and will soon be a little stronger.
