Default Raising soil pH
The pH of the water I'm giving my plant is 6.5 but the runoff is testing at 5.2. Is there a safe way to add lime to the soil without disturbing the plant?

You do *not* want to add lime to an existing plant; you'll burn it to death. BTW, I love your avatar!! Welcome to Rollitup!

Thanks, but that page simply suggests adding lime or wood ashes before planting. I'm in the second week of flowering. Is there anything I can do to lower the pH of the soil at this stage?

You didn't go down far enough babydoll. Scroll all the way down. ...lower, lower, yeah, that's nice; ok, stop right there. Aluminum Sulfate and sulfur.

Aluminum Sulfate and sulfur are for lowering pH. I need to raise it.

Sorry for the brain fart; I must have assumed you wanted to lower it. I'm not sure as to why you'd want to raise it; 5.2 is pretty darn good. Maybe a mod will chime in. So this means no pic?

My understanding was that a pH of 6.2-6.8 is optimal. Wouldn't nutrients like phosphorus, calcium, magnesuim get locked out at a pH of 5.2? I don't have any other pictures of the chick in my avatar.

You are absolutely right; according to GardenKnown (our resident mod/god), soil should be pH 6-7. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Was just teasing about the pix anyway.
