Default Holy crap I need help!

I think this light is way to hot for my grow box. If you didnt read the other thread its a 150w GE Gro&Sho. I have a thermometer on the soil and it got up to 100 and I turned it off. I dont want to burn my plants obviously but I have always read put it about an inch away. Im about 4 inches away and it got that hot. What do you guys think?

It is an incandescent bulb don't bother. Go get some CFL's or spend the money and get an HID setup.

Yeah, if it's too hot for your hand it's WAY too hot for your babies. I should know, I just torched my 6 babies last week with a new HPS.
