Default CO2 / indoor related questions

Ok, I am new to indoor growing and growing in general and I am trying to learn as much as possible to help me do the best I can.

I am currently growing inside my bedroom with a 600w HPS and 12 plants (8 clones, 4 seeds) in soil which I have just started to flower for 2 days. They are approx 20 inches tall give or take and have been growing really well as far as I can tell.

Now, here are a couple of questions that I am really concerned with:

1. I have heard that budding only under a HPS willl result in long thin buds? Is this true?

2. I have also heard that without CO2, my plants will yield fluffy weed that will burn too easily and not be dense? Is CO2 really that important. Is it safe to run an "organic" CO2 setup inside my bedroom, or any setup for that matter?

3. Should I replace the soil at this time or will adding nutrients be sufficiant?

4. I noticed my seed plants have slightly smaller stems than my clones, is this a big deal?

Anything else you guys wanna hit me up with that could help me, is really appreciated, thanks a lot

1. Flowering under HPS is the way to go. I have a 16" kola nearly as big around as my fist and this is teh 5th week flowering.
2. Co2 will help your plant perform to its peak potential. If you are growing a strain that has fluffy buds than you will have fluffy buds. Since c02 introduction a week ago I can honestly say they are getting fatter a little quicker.
3. Between veg and flower always transplant from a 9" pot into a 3-5 gallon. Keep with the same soil, but add fresh.
4. I have never cloned. Sorry I cant help you with that.

DONT OVER FERTILIZE and Dont Overwater!!!!! I have found that I sometimes have a heavy hand when it comes to nutes. If you have good fresh soil in your flowering stage get a bloom fertilizer but only use it maybe once a week. and only use it at less dosage than what the mfg calls for.

Oh and have intake and exhaust fans. If you can, put an exhaust fan in your closet and up into the attic or out a wall somehow. If you cant do that with an intake than keep your window open and have a fan blowing into your grow area. That HPS will shrivel them up and kill them if you dont take caution and have fresh air.

Hey thanks a ton man!!!! I got a fan blowing on them constantly on low-med when the light is on.

I also have them in 3g buckets now, which they have been in since I got them actually.

What way should I add CO2 to my plants while still being safe, considering they are in my room that I sleep in etc ?

Again, THANK YOU!

Believe it or not this works. Take a 1 gallon clean jug. Put in it a cup of sugar and 2 or 3 tablespoons of yeast. Fill it about 2/3 of the way with water. Mix it up and let it sit with your plant. I like to take the top off the milk jug with teh lights are on and put the top back on when the lights go off. You are making cheap c02. If you sleep in the same room you are already giving off enough c02 for what your plants need.

but, every little bit extra does help. Oh and you will have to replace the water yeast and sugar in about 2 weeks.

you dont need co2!!! co2 is a want and like the icing on the cake! cant add icing if the cake is still baking.

instead of worrying about co2, you should make sure all your other factors are in order and maxed out.

that is the only way your plants will utilize the extra co2.

and sorry, i disagree with homemade rigs of co2, its no way in hell sugar yeast and all that bull jive is going to increase the ppms of co2 in your area to 1200-1500 as to those are the levels that you will see its benefits!
