    Default Getting to hot... Help!!

So I just added 2 1000w lights to my room. It has raised the temps significantly. I was running 1 600w aircooled hps light and my room was always 74 degrees w/30% RH. I am running a 12000 btu soleus a/c in the room. the room is aprox 65 sq. ft with a 7' ceiling.. The a/c is a 2 hose unit and already exhaust heat out, but i think maybe not enough. Is adding another exhaust fan going to help lower the temps? my temps are staying around 85-90 degrees with the two 1000w running..

if you have it properly set up... the temp inside the op should be within 5F of the outside temp... WITHOUT AC...

Al B. Fuct illustrated it really well....

There are formulas to calculate the airmass exchange necessary...

But the way I learned it was...

if lights are aircooled... room volume excjanged every 2 minutes... as you are only looking to replace the CO2 that the plants used up....

If lights are bare... 5x the room volume per minute... as you are trying to get rid of the heat as well...

    Now...

What are the outside teps you deal with?

What kind/size fan do you have for the aircooling of the lights....?

We'll figure it out... don't worry...

oh and the intake blower on that drawing is not mandatory...

In fact.. only 1% of ops NEED an intake blower....

    Default My room

Ok Here are a few picks. I hope you can see It's hard to get a good pic with the lights on... First see that I have a big can fan blowing air threw the lights and out the same vent as the air conditioner. Could this be a problem, venting to much air through the same excape? When I touch the "T" where the hoses connect it's frickin' hot. To hot to touch!! The lights really do not seem so hot to the touch for 1000w The last pics are of my first grow that is now in it's 5th week of flower after a 7 week veg.. not bad for a newbie I have been told.. I am so proud.. Thanks for you help..
    PEACE

so the fan blows fresh air through the lights.... and joins the exhaust from your AC unit at that "T"....

And that "T" is friggin hot?

you need to re-do that exhaust ...

anyway you can put your AC outside the op, and duct the cold air IN....?

You need to get rid of heat sources in the op...

what is the outside air temp?
