depends how many nodes you want when youre done and how tall you want the plant to be. you can top it once it has enough leaves to support the loss of the top without being stressed too much. im guessing theres no set rules as different strains will have varying recovery times and will react to topping in different ways. the plant i showed in my first post was topped as well as lst'd:


im just a noob though so you may want to wait for a answer from one of the pros.
