Default Watering Amount??
The Search Button is not really that good on this forum for specifics, but my question is how much to water a plant?. Is there a method on plant length/height to amount of water to feed? I don't have an automated water thingy so I water every other day but not sure how much to. So help please.

Only water when the pot is completely dry and is light. When watering, water until entire medium is saturated, you will achieve 10%+ runoff if done correctly

You dont want the soil to get completely dry...just enough where you can pick the pot with one hand with ease.because depending on what kind of soil you're growing in, if you let the soil get too dry it becomes dry and compact...then next time you go and water again the soil wont absorb the water as good...but only water when your ladies need it...i water like once a week

Make sure your pots have drainage holes and water until you get a bit of runoff. You aren't going to overwater unless you don't let the pots dry out a bit in between waterings. Best of luck my friend.

It really depends on the pot size and roots. If the plant doesnt have alot of roots like it was just transplanted the plant wont need as much water as a rootbound plant. Its really about trial and error. I would water then let dry out. see about the time it took and write it down . water on this schedule and it will get shorter and shorter as the roots fill the pot. sry if dont make any sense. pretty ripped

pick up a pot the same size with soil from the bag. thats the dry of the soil when its wet.
You will need to water when your plants get close to that weight.

another way is to dip your finger in 2 inches deep and see if theres any moisture left. if it is - don't water.

another way is to water until you get a runoff and time how long it will take for leaves to raise up and then get a bit droopy. then you water. next time you water one day earlier.

Each strain got its needs and water uptake.

YOU WANT RUNOFF IT HELPS FLUSH YOUR PLANTS. IF YOU GOT HOLES IN THE BOTTOM IT IS HARD TO OVER WATER DON'T LET THEM SIT IN STANDING WATER!

just because you pour 1 cup of water into 1 cup of soil does not mean it all gets wet. Water takes the path of least resistance so if the soil is dry it could run down the sides of the cup or pot and out the holes and you think you watered the plant.

I guarantee you if you pour 1 cup of water into a 1 cup plant that needs water there will be some runoff.. You must make sure the whole grow medium has been soaked

"thats why you hear 10% run off or 1 1/2 times the pot size.

Peace
