hey i just have a few questions about my set up...i am using rockwool in a 2x4 flood table...should the rockwool cubes just sit on the bottom of the flood table or should there be something else below them?

And...

How high do i need to flood the table for 4 inch rockwool cubes (half way, 3/4 the way)

Those are good videos. If you follow along my grow journal I've just started some sprouts and I use a Ebb & Flow with rockwool cubes.

It's the "Fucking Incredible" link in my sig. My newest pics show the covers I use, how I place my cubes and overall what my setup looks like.

If you want to see what they look like finished, follow my White Widow journal as it has a complete grow in the beginning (finishing with the pics in my avatar) and now a SCROG version of the same strain in the same space.

Should be lots of helpful information in both journals for those interested in starting with E & F (which is the only way to go).

he uses a drip system im using flood and drain

He uses ebb & flow, he just puts the drippers into the rockwool cubes during veg so that the little plants will get water. It's only really necessary until the roots reach the lower parts of the cubes. I just water from the top and cover my cubes during that stage.

And to answer your question (I apologize for not doing that in the first post), just set the cubes on the tray for veg. In flower I generally put the cubes in hydroton to give the roots more space.

oh ok that makes sence...how high do u flood the rockwool during veg and flow and how often?

I flood my cubes about half way up. Some do less, but I have found this works well. The watering cycles increase with time. During the seedling stage I predominantly hand water. Once they have roots all the way to the bottom of the big cubes I'll start flooding once/day for 30 minutes. This is because the cheapo timers I use only go in 30 minute increments and it's always worked perfectly well. When the plants get to about 12" I switch it twice/day for 30 minutes.

When they move into the tent for flower I up it to 3 waterings/day but each for only 15 minutes. I have a more advanced timer in that tent and it's 3 waterings in a 12 hour period. Having it water for an hour and a half/day is too much. It's just seemed to work out best this way.
