Default planted seed... light?

Ok so this is my kick off for the first plant, got the germination done and I'm about to plant my baby. so after I plant it do I start using the light on it right away? i just have flourencent lighting to start with now.

Once the seeds are germinated.. place them carefully (without touching the white root) about half an inch beneath the light threshold (wherever your light hits your medium (soil, clay pebbles, whatev, etc), keep the light on all day every day. bam. like sugar.
