Default Fan Leaves necessary?

Do I even need the fan leaves? at 5 weeks they are covering up my lateral stem and not letting light thru, shul i not worry about it?

arent the lateral structures the ones onles that produce buds anyway?

and if u stick an immature veggin plant sunder 12/12 will u only get 1 top cola if no lateral stems and leaves grew?

your plants need the fan leaves bro if cut them off it can stop your plantes growing (as it put's it's energy in to growing more) it uses it's fan leaves to give it energy a lot of light gose straight through the leaves so dont worry about them

fan leaves are where your plants pull all of their growing power from. you totally need them, especially during bloom. don't remove them at all

dont every cut fan leaves off unless they are massivly blocking bud sites from light, and then maybe one or 2 at most, but i never cut any fan leave on my girls. Think of ur fan leaves like the power plants, or solar panels for your plants.

i am down with what everyone else has said.. the fan leaves are like the plants solar panels hanging out there collecting light that it later uses to convert into energy by making sugars.. fan leaves are the life blood of your plant, remove them and the plant will have major problems, and remove enough of them and your baby will die..
i was always told not touch any of my leaves.. if they are yellowing and look dead like they will towards the end of flowering, ,they will fall off on their own when they no long have a job to do for your plant..

Leave 'em alone!!! They are your plants energy storage units that they will draw from for flowering. If you must, just fold the "blocking" fan leaves under --- but do NOT remove them unless absolutely necessary!!
