Lower leaves turning yellow - about 3 weeks into flowering

Hi rollituppers

Basically im into my 3rd week of flowering and the leaves have a pale yellow tinge to them... seems to have gone on as the flowering progresses (they were perfect green before i put them into flower) - now i know its normal for the lower leaves to turn yellow and fall off but it seems to be progressing through the plant and some of the top leaves are turning yellow and curling (very dry)...

Now im wondering.... i have an intake fan for fresh air in (basically a bathroom extractor fan) and an oscialling fan inside as well - and im just wondering if its from too much exposure to the fans and the airflow thats doing this??? I do leave them on 24/7 - anyone else had this?

thx.

I would say this is normal as the plant is using up the green for food.

Just out of curious, what is your soil composed of and what nutrients/feeding schedule do you utilize

Im using biobizz all mix and i use biobizz nutes at a half concentration every other watering - they look ok... just seem to be losing some leaves and yellowing more than i expected.

yellowing at that point is good....the leafs are just food storage thats all. as a matter of a fact, when you flush 2 weeks before harvest youll see all sorts of colors....youll see purple on non purple strains, youll see every shade of yellowish green and strait yellow.....dark green in the end isnt good. it means the plant is still getting too much nitrogen....at the end when u harvest. all the leaves should be yellowing...none should be dark dark green

Can you post some pics Op?

I had the same problem with mine.
If they are curling on you and are Necrotic then It may be a Magnesium deficiency.
Just out of curiosity are they White Widow?
My Widows seem to be Magnesium Whores.

i did a floro grow on my first time around... and i was happy with the results......untill i bought a 400 hps..
now im using a 600 hps and a 400 hps and 2 100 hps lamps....theres no comparison. when i grew with floros i was getting like an oz maybe off a small plant....when i switched to pro-mix and hps lights, i am now getting 3 or 4 oz per plant...

im having the same problem with my WW in its 8th week now and mid leaves are turning brown ... it all points to mag deficiency as started off with lower fan leaves turnin yellow now its progressing up the plant and leaves are turning brown from the edges inwards, im feeding em epsom salts now in hope it doesnt progress. What we have in common is perhaps the strain and the same feeding nutes ( i too am feeding biobizz) so perhaps its not an isolated problem and i should have introduced more magnesium to my soil at the start of the grow- perhaps?

have a look at my journal to see if your suffering in the same way as mine started in about the 3-4 th week of flowering :D

Hi Agent Provocateur, I will check in and see your journal, with a name like that it's got to be worthwhile seeing:lol:. when you said above, "mid leaves", are you talking middle of the plant? Are they the older leaves? Perhaps with them turning brown from the edges inwards, it's Potassium prob. Anyway, check the Biobizz NPK, catch you a non.

I have the same problem at 3 weeks, here is a picture. What do you think?
hi alexonfire, is that just the one leaf on the plant? the rest of your girl looks really healthy from that pic? Old leaf sydrom i call it:lol: chop it off and move on. happy growing

hey guys.
hey alex. if there are yellowing leafs on your plant a month into flower thats a good thing. the plant is using the food in it...thats supposed to happen. especially to the fan leafs. dont sweat it....now if your plant was showing signs of that on the smaller leafs that are on the branches and the buds then id say you have a deficiancy....from looking at that pic, all i see is a healthy plant doing exactly what it should be.....people get the idea that every leaf should stay on the plant and every leaf should stay dark green.......if you dont have yellowing and dying fan leafs a month into flowering its because you have wayyyyyyy too much nitro in the soil, and you need to flush. that plant looks perfect from what i can see.
my last grow was 65 plants seeds to smoke, so i saw what was supposed to happen. actually i saw every issue you could have basically except mites. i been lucky.

it's normal for leaves to turn yellow and die off in flower...

look for them and take them off, since they can block light from getting through... or you can let them fall off, same shit.....

the thing that sucks about just waiting and letting them fall off is that they get all crispy and crinkly and crunched up and they are harder to get out at that point. i wait till the leafs fingers are dryed out then i rip em off the plant. theyve been used up at that point...i dont worry about light getting in. right now im growing 5 plants under a 400hps and a 600hps with 2 100s for side light....so im covered as far as light goes
