Default Carbon Filters: What do they hook up to?
I'm thinking of making a homemade carbon filter, but I can't see what they hook up to, or how they work. Do I need a special ventilation system to hook it up to?

I'm very confused on these.

well, with a drum filter it should come with a 4", 6" or 8" flange to attach ducting on to. The idea is that you're pulling air through the filter and out of the room via ducting with the help of an exaust fan. You can make one, but you're better off just buying one if you can.

you hook the carbon filter to some ducting and then to an inline fan.The air is pulled thru the carbon filter.

Thank you guys so much for your help.

I'm horrible at knowing about any of this. Stuff like that is not my thing. Is there a guide anywhere explaining the setup of one step by step?

Just curious....what is your reason for saying to just buy one?
