Hey guys, So I'm a first time grower and I'm just trying to get all the schematics worked out right now and start sometime about a month from now. I've decided I'm going to make a stealth cab so when I move I can take it with me, and of course because its stealth.

Now I had a few lighting questions if anyone has answers or advice please share.

First of all, HPS can be used all the way through growing from start to finish and you get a bigger yield. So ideally, this is the only light I need? No fluro, no MV, no MH? Would there be any reason at all to use a mix of bulbs maybe?

Now figuring out the wattage for my HPS was a little tricky until I understood it. So you have to stay about about 2500 Lumens per sqr foot. I figure my cab will be NO bigger then 5' (Length) by 3' (Width). Which makes my area 15 square feet, which means I should have about 37,500 lumens correct? Now I'm not exactly sure how lumens are calculated but what if you are over the amount you should have, does this have anything to do with raising and lowering the light? If the cabinet I find ends up being only say 3' L by 1.5' W then I'd only need 11,250 Lumens. Now that seems like a big difference to me. That would change my mind from a HPS 400 to a HPS 175 or even 150. If I had the money is there a way I can just purchase the 400 HPS maybe for future use but somehow keep the appropriate lumens in my grow space?

Thats all I can remember for now, I'll wait for a reply here and I'm sure another question will pop up.
