Default why flat paint over a gloss?
i am setting up a grow and in the process of researching the details. one question i have is why does everyone recomend to use flat white paint? wouldnt a gloss reflect more? would another color be better like blue for reflecting blue light?

Glossy paint will create hot spots and you don't want that.

Kinda like using a magnifying glass to burn ants.

Mylar is the best choice though.

No flat white reflects the most out of any paint or color. Flat white diffuses the light better.

Blue paint would absorb blue light rather than reflect it

Actually mylar is very irritating, use "lumitec" paint.

Well there is also a thread saying that aluminum foil is better than white paint, so do the math.

Blue paint appears blue because it absorbs other colors of the spectrum and reflects the blue light.

But still the blue that is reflected is not necessarily all the the blue part of the spectrum that the plant needs, so as people have recommended - white or reflective paint or mylar.
