what's the ideal humidity range for a grow room? not sure if the spots i'm getting on my leaves are from high or low humidity....

In veg, 50 and over, 60 is fine. In early flower back down to 50. When actual buds start growing lower still - 40s or even 30s if possible.

does lower humidity 'hurt'? i'm running around 35% humidity during veg now....guess i need to add water to the 'air'?

You do want humidity at least 50 in veg. You can get a cool air humidifier for about 30 at walmart that works well. it's a good investment.
