hi im just starting my first room my seeds are germanating as i type anyways i wanted to know what you guy think of my room so far its small with 1 60 watt cfl light 1 fan def gets the wind in and the size is about 2 1/2 feet tall 1 foot wide and 2 feet long 1dk if im doing something wrong but all the other times i tryed it was outside and the leafs just like die anyways idk if they will get the light they need and if it will get too hot in the grow box cuz its all coverd up any tips master growers??

try and add a pic if you can so we can see what its like, if it just germanating then a 60watt cfl might be a bit hot, just try and keep the lights above the plants a bit more, i once got told if you put ur hand under the light an it feels hot then it has more chance of burning your plant, just keep moving it up intill it feels fine and with small/germanating plants keep it a bit higher. i had some prb b4 and i got told to use a 23 watt clf for my small plant so a 60 watt will be great when it a bit bigger and then it will be great but might need changing when the plant is a monster cos it will need all the light it can get then! the grow box may need some more fans, there is a link on this site where this guy makes a realy cool grow box and he uses about 4 fans and an air filter! i suggest you have a look at that as it shows what he used and how he did it! good luck

you will need two holes one for air to get in and one with a pc fan blowing air out. 60 Watt light will be fine, just make sure your temps dont get too high.

Is that bulb actually 60 watts or 60 watt equivalent? Either way I'd get at least 2 100 watt equivalent per plant. And make sure their daylights.

And with CFLs you need them close, and I mean close, max 3.5 inch until they get their first real fan leaves, then >2 inches away for the rest of the grow. This is because CFLs dont give off enough heat to kill the plants, unless it was touching the light itself.

Even though CFLs dont produce much heat, get at least an exhaust fan.

And how are you reflecting light?

Edit: AND NO! That light is not fine. that is a 15 watt bulb, 60 watt equivalent. Not suitable for growing, maybe for a clone but thats it. Get more bulbs and bigger bulbs!! NOW!!

Why would you go to a fish shop for your lights? And it depends on how big your closest is. larger get floro tubes, smaller for CFLs.

And that will not help you, in anything it will generate more heat. Incandescent bulbs arent meant to be made for growing.

ok ty i think my lights are good im useing a pop can now for a reflecter and im about to get another light now i am going into water so ... whats the dl on the watering?? is there a easy inexpensive way to make a watering system or should just pour it in if so how much do i water them??
