appreciate it sgt. sly anymore advice will be much appreciated
If it's the 125 actual watt then the difference would likely be lumen output and maybe they designed the spectrum to be more ideal for growing.

However, here's something cool i learned. Remember what i said about CFL's photons diffusial pattern? Well same goes for the 125W. It's a nice light , problem is:
1. One physical light makes coverage difficult.
2. Cost to replace.
3. Lumen's per watt. 42-65 Actual watt CFL's give you the MOST Lumens per Watt Ratio. Means you get a little more out of your power costs.

Plus with MORE of these great smaller bulbs you can obtain greater coverage.

You're likely to get much better results from 125 watts broken up over multiple bulbs than in just one.

The minimum For good CFL grow, is 3000 lumens per sq.ft.

1-42W 2700 or 6500K CFL = 2600-2800 lumens.

You can use this as a rough guide and put 1 bulb per sq.foot you want to cover. Get good reflectors or make em, it helps HUGE. Some use pop cans, slice em open long way and open up like barn doors, light goes inside. Genius.

i had a couple of idea's for my setup i just dont know which one would yeild the best... havin 2 actual 125 watt cfl at the top and 2 cfl's like i got now on each side or just go and get a bunch of cfl's like i got now and put 10 on top and 6 on each side with homemade reflectors like you were talking about...

However you do it, i would go with the cheapest option. Ultimately i'd get a 400-600 HPS.

Design your setup at the top with a pulley and string system, so you can easily raise and lower your lights. Just keep em cfl's CLOSE i can't stress that enough, if you don't your nugs will end up popcorn like and airy.

Ya but you want it to be like dry like half way down. It's ok and very good for the soil to dry out almost completely. MJ will bounce back from a drought much faster than over watering. PLUS it's easy to get a feel, just let em go without water till you see the first sign of wilting, then totally saturate the soil.....it'll be perky in an hour.

With an hps though ventilation and cost is an issue but ultimately thats the goal but cfl's are more cost friendly right now...i already got my lights on a pully system to make things easier... do you know if its better to just have all 1 color light for the cycle they're in or do you think a good ratio like 2-1 or 3-1 would work better? do you think its to early to put the bagseed plant on an 18/6 or should i let em get taller they're about 8 inch and about 2 months old and my chrystal is about a month and a week and its about 4-5 inch

It's never too early for 18/6 light cycle.
I personally use BOTH 2700 and 6500k spectrums, through out the whole grow. If you cannot do that., i suggest 2700 for flower, and 6500 for veg.

2 months old? Which one? I didn't see any like that in your pics?
