Default 250 Watt Metal Halid / High Pressure Sodium..
Is a 250 watt unit too much to put into a closet with just two high power oscilating fans? I personally dont think the heat will be too much of an issue, but double checking..

If you are not exhausting the CLOSET (small room) the LIGHT is in.. or if the ceilings are not 20 feet HIGH... I bet it will be to hot... You will definitley need to have the plants on the ground as far away from the HoT air that will be sitting at the top of the closet...

my vote is, that it will get to hot.. unless it is already pretty darn cold in that closet... can you cut a hole in the floor and exhaust the heat OUT of the closet....?

I did see a closet with a 400 watt HPS and it was super hot.. and then they took off the door knob and put in a squirrel fan to blow the hot air out the DOOR know... it still was always 85-90 degrees in that closet..

with a 400 watt builb

cheers

Okay, then next question..Is an 8 bulb 2' t5 fixture (like 16, 000 lumens) good enough for a 5 plant DWC system in a 20 gallon res? This wouldnt get hot, right?

Right, it won't get hot, it will put out heat. Its evenly spaced so with decent ventilation it won't 'burn' your plants. That isn't the only issue. If your plants are going to survive and grow, they will NEED FRESH AIR. They will deplete the co2 in the existing air and won't get anymore unless you move the stale air out and bring in fresh air. And did I mention your plants will need FRESH AIR? VV

I would for sure cut a hole and get an exhaust dude.

I had a 250W in a closet with fans, but no exhaust or intake vents.
Didnt go so well, it was way to hot and humid in there, plus there is no fresh air. Which is really needed.

Cut some holes and vent it.

Okay..So can I cut a 4"-6" hole in the flooring of my closet, near the water heater? The water heater is seperated from the closet area by a small piece of wallpapered-sheet rock. Would one of those 80-110 CFM Cheap Exhuast fans work that only cost like $40?

Also, Im considering a 25-watt LED setup..Would that be sufficient to the point of almost no heat? A buddy of mine has a few of these and grows in his closet with no problems at all, simply opening the door to check on them a few times a day to exchange air. And from what I understand..Plants dont use Co2 when lights are off...At least Mel Thomas says so.

yes probably... and you can even hook the fan up to a tmeprature controlled ON/OFF switch... so that it goes on and sucks the hot air OUT only at a certain temp super cool!!

make sure you are blowingthe air somewhere "safe" - that air will smell like anja during flowering and could notify others of your most noble hobby

I've heard bad things about those. You're talking about those duct fans right? They don't really create much suction.

If you can afford one, get a squirrel cage fan or an inline vortex fan. To determine how much CFM you need. Multiply your grow rooms length, width, and height (in feet) together, then divide by 5.

HTGsupply.com has a 210 CFM 4" inline fan WITH carbon scrubber for $219

How well does that gel odor killer work? I think it's gel..That shit you get that's in a little container to kill odors from your garden? Also, now Im thinking about making my entertainment center in a grow chamber. Ive got about 60" from base to top, without having to conceal the TV area. I want to run two 70 CFM A/C Square Fans (You can buy them to keep entertainment centers from getting too hot) How will that work out? One for intake, one for exhuast?
