I just started my first grow it is being done in a large dresser i want to know if one 24 inch tube of 20w grow-lux is enough light please answer asap

I would say thats not enough light for even 1 plant, but thats just my opinion.

hmm do you think two of them could light up 4 plants?

I have one of those 20w 24" grow lights, I only have one plant growing it's doing ok but I added 2 75w cfl's because the 24" tube only puts out about 1200 lumens, I think there doing better now plus there really is no added heat with cfl's. from what I am reading the more light the better just watch the heat, I dont think 2 of those 20w are enough for 4 plants but I am no pro.

I'm a newbie here, however I have figured out a good system that works for veg growth and is very cheap to do. I bought a nice work shop light with a mylar reflector at Rona for less then 50 bucks. The light takes T8 bulbs 32W. I tried a cool white and warm white bulb which sucked big time. Then I went to my local hardware store and bought 2 Phillips T8 "natural sun light" bulbs, 32W 2950 lumens, 5000K each. The plants responded to the light nicely and are growing like weeds LOL. Phillips also makes a T8 "Daylight" bulb which is 6500K, 32W (not sure what the lumens was) thought I might give that a try. Around my shop light, I've hung chip bags (Doritos, Lays, ETC) to reflect the light back to the plant. I've even used a chip bag underneth the plant pots to reflect more light to the plants so it isn't wasted. Seems to be working great so far. My next project will be to mount two of these light together so I will have 4 bulbs (2950 x 4 = 11,800 lumens) this should be strong enough for at least 4 plants. If anybody wants to know how to mount 2 of these lights together to make one, i'll tell you, just let me know.
