does anyone know where i can purchase a temp controller(not a thermostat). i have a small area that needs to be cooled. in videos i've noticed little metal rods hanging around room/grow box. is that a temp controller???and do they allow for an appliance plug(fans)...

Are you talking about cooling an airspace or water in a hydro res? If air you need ac in one form or another. If water you want an aquarium chiller that are often coupled with controllers.
