Since the chat room folks wanna be unhelpful little lamers, I'll try here.
And I know there's a "plant hospital" forum, but figured I'd post here since I'm new and it's my first grow. So please bear with me. I'm having a problem. Have a plant that's been growing since mid to late May. Haven't used anything but Miracle Gro soil, water, and sunlight. It's been growing fairly well and high. My two issues are this. One: Yellowing of the leaves (yes I know this has probably been addressed many a time on here, but didn't feel like scrolling through everything trying to find it) like fan leaves mainly, I know it's normal for some of them to yellow and die off, but a few around the flowers are getting mildly yellow. Is this normal? I've read about "flushing" but don't think I'd need to do that since I haven't used any chemicals or additives (other than ones already in the soil) so just wondering if the plant is dying, or if there's an impediment going on that I can correct or what. And if it's not dying how long does it usually take for it to fully bud? Only reason I ask this is because some of the produce from the buds/flowers looks mighty piddly, other than that it looks healthy and dark green aside from the yellowing. Two: On a couple of the branches I've found several clusters of unopened buds. They look healthy and green , and have singular white and/or orange hairs extending from them. That's what lead me to believe they aren't pollen sacs because they aren't yellow and have the little hairs. The point of this part is , how long does it take those buds to open up after flowering , and what should I do to keep tabs on them to make sure they are thriving and healthy? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Last edited by FarBeyondDriven97; 10-16-2009 at 01:25 AM.. |

Yellowing is normal, and during flowering is generally a nitrogen deficiency. If its around the bud sights though it generally just means the buds are taking energy from the leaves to better produce the bud. As for the buds not opening, pictures would really help because buds are never really closed. Pistols show where the buds will start but don't really enclose the bud.

Well as previously stated it is normal during last stages of budding but Ive noticed my leaves staying green until harvest when I use the bloom booster MG stuff. I usually mix as directed for house plants , they supply a lil measuring cup its about half a teaspoon per gallon of water and I spray it directly on and under the leaves 1 or 2 times dailey. In a 5 gallon pot I water once every week or 2. I use a lil air stone to keep my water oygenated, helps a lil I believe, Thats my experience. But your hps and mh light would be great to use together during flowering. They both work well. Its almost impossible to get fert burn. I never have.

Well, it may be a lost cause. After closer inspection, what I thought were bud clusters, were actually seed casings. I followed the plant's progression and it exhibited all the characteristics of a female plant, but I think it may be male or a hermaphrodite plant. Then I found some pollen in a hidden spot. Had a male in there but guess I didn't yank it soon enough.
So I guess I should just yank the fucker and start over ? Oh well, back to square one. |

Not sure what to do. I looked up pics of male plants, and there's not "banana" looking flowers, they look like normal flowers, with orange and white hairs, and there's crystals on the leaves, the pollen sacks are in like 2 or 3 places. What I need to know now is should I just yank it up since there's those few pollen sacks and seeds growing? Or is it in some way salvageable, or do I just need to say forget it?
