I don't worry about humidity for seedlings so much, just clones.

The light is fine for now.

How many seeds total did you pop?

How big of containers are they in?

5 seeds in total in separate jiffy pots. i was thinking of putting the propagator under 2x16w in a few days as i would let it get used to being under one. any tips on the misting ??

I don't mist.

actually I don't worry about humidity levels even when cloning.

Jiffy pots pretty much are awesome. You can leave them in like a 1/4 inch of water and they will keep your plant plenty moist.

Don't worry about water like this, if anything it will lead to you over watering.

How I treat jiffy pots is either they are in a tray made to hold like 50 or they are in a tupperware which will hold about 16 of em up right. I make sure there is a small amount of water touching the bottoms of all starter pots and leave it at that.

If the medium starts changing colors it is probably starting to dry and needs more water.

I keep telling everyone my secret awesome watering strategy to people who don't know and they are amazed.

For now water when those plugs are getting a bit dry. Don't worry about misting your plant, it has roots and has the ability to uptake as much water as it needs.

With a clone there is a finite amount of water available so most people keep the rh up high so they can't lose to much water. Roots are good at what they do and a seed basically has all the supplies it needs within it to make it to the first real leaves except water.

Don't worry the plant did evolve just like you and is about as resilient if not more so.

Edit- You will probably have enough light with just a single bulb for these five plants for about a week. Once the roots grow out of the pot and you transplant you will probably need both of those 16w bulbs. Very soon after that tho you will need a lot more light.

If you are planning to use CFLs for your first time through thats fine but I would really recommend looking into a 600w hps. They are about the most efficient source of light you can buy save for LEDs which haven't been optimized really much for great plant growth.

cheers for the info dude ! - i actually don't have any water in the propagation tray, but i think i will put a tiny amount in as i guess if the lil babies need them then at least their is water there. will probably use the two 16w when transported to a 4" then from 7.5l pots i will be using a 400w hps.
thanks again

Since you are using a lower wattage hps it is especially important to incorporate a way to get the light close to the plant without heat damage. IE a cool tube, other wise it is theoretical that you would have been better off with cfls all the way through.

Are you using mylar to collect light to your plants?

Are your seeds feminized? if not you might want to think about popping off a few more to ensure that you get 4 females for your first time through which would be optimal for a 400.

How big is your intended grow area?
