Ok, let`s get straight to the point. Me an my roomie want to get our growing going. Now we`ve recently ordered 5 feminized Bubblelicious seeds complete with growing kit from nirvana-shop.com

I`ve gone about this forum back and forth an have found plenty of good advice and new info.

HOWEVER... we only want to grow a single pot, maybe 2. As in 1 or 2 plants, nothing more. So i`m looking for advice on how to grow a small scale operation such as this and in our dorm room nonetheless


Worth mentioning, we have a big, big room, lots of space, just the two of us inside, other than the cleaning ladies that come every thursday, no one we don`t want in comes in.

My plan was pretty basic really. Buy the seeds, the nirvana growing kit, 2-3 pots, GROW THE GANJA. Seems like it`s a bit more complicated than that though, so if you would, i`d very much appreciate some help and tips here.


EDIT: once i get things together and start growing, i will post step by step how i went about setting my plant up and if it is successfull -as in my plants grows healthy and pretty- i will separate it into a post of how i did it, in hope that if someone else needs a small scale stealth build like i do, it may come in handy. So please, let`s all work together and make this project into a success

ok, i can do that. I have tall, rather roomy closets. I plan on growing into soil. Also worth mentioning is that we`re working on a budget and with rather limited resources. We don`t have a ton of money nor do i live in a country where i can easily find much of what is posted as necesary kit on other weed growing threads

Specific questions...

• what light cycles should i use/ are they absolutely necesary?
• I understand a soil ph of about 6 is necesary, but what should i ask for at the store? A clay, dark soil, what kind?
• how often should i water
• Can i just use non-bubbling mineral water/ can i use it in all stages of growing w\o sacrificing quality?
• can i make do with ordinary light bulbs? If not what cheap alternatives do i have?
• Other than filtering the smell, do carbon filters have other use?
• What should i do about ventilation? how do i set that up because this is maybe my biggest problem. I have no skills in this matter (setting up electronics, wiring, voltage etc.)

This would be it for starters i think. What i am most confused about is what exactly do i need to get my plant up and going right at the start. I don`t want to wake up with my seeds at the reception and waste time and valuable seeds doing it wrong.

I also want to end up with a healty, well yielding plant in the end, so even if i don`t have all the cash in the world i still want to get good results on a budget

Is the cleaning lady have an association with the college? I would be worried about her stumbling across it. I personally wouldn't do it, but to each their own.

You will definitely want a carbon filter for smell. Sounds like a CFL grow would make sense for you guys. Information about the space you're growing in (dimensions, setup, etc) would be helpful.

How much reseach have you done? Are you familiar with vegging/flowering stages, etc. There are other examples on the forum of stealth set ups you can use as reference.

Seriously a terrible idea.If anyone gets word of what you're doing, or if they have any reason to search your dorm they will and can at a moment's notice. Your rights are severely limited in a dorm, and being caught means no more college and probably jail time.Running what it takes to even grow even 1-2 plants adds considerable noise, and the possibility for odor, both of which can be easily detected (even in your 'luxury' dorm).

Light cycles in veg are typically 18/6 and then 12/12 in flowering. They are absolutely necessary. Some people veg under 24/0 lights, but some people say that causes too much stress.

Regular light bulbs won't do anything for you. You can use CFL bulbs with the appropriate spectrums (6500k for vegging/2700k for flowering). I'm not sure if they are easily available where you are, but I can get them here for about a $1 (for the 26w actual bulbs).

You can set up ventilation however you want. You will probaly have some combo of an inline fan + tubing. Basically, you want to take the hot, smelly air from inside your grow area and force it out (through the filter) to the air outside. You can have a passive intake.

There's a ton of info on here... I find that if you go to google and do a search agains the site, you can usually find what you want.

Yeah dude, its not worth it at all. It would just be a waste of money "IF" you get caught,go to jail, and didn't even grad. Then you have to pay back whatever money you borrowed to go to college. PLUS if you get caught that goes on your record and most good schools look down on that thing..

Your best bet in my eyes are outside, (but it is prob to cold) or have someone else grow it in there dorm. But if you think you guys can get away with it, more power to ya guys and I will try to help ya out as much as I can.

Thanks for that info Insaneinthebrain, i`ll keep my mind on that. The setup is one big, big roo, by my eye it's... about 6x5 meters and a decent hallway with 2 bathrooms. The rooms are separated by wall and door. I know of the flowering\vegging stages, i`m down with that. my biggest headache is how to setup the instalation. I`ll post some pics of my room and the dresser where i want to set things up tommorrow.

Also, on the smell issue i was thinking air freshners like Glade or whatever. Those concentrated perfumes. Bubblelicious i understand doesn`t have avery specific weed smell so i think that combined with some air fresheners i could do ok on the scent front. Carbon filters are just too expensive for our setup, and especially for 1-2 plants :-s

You have a good point homegrown, several good points actually, but i`ve allready decided i`m going through with this and as long as i do it smart and keep discrete, i reckon it will be fine. Thanks for your input, i`ll keep what you said in mind throughout the growing process, i`ll make sure to be careful mate

well if you are in an open room and not a cabinet any circular fan directed at an upward angle through the plants towards the lights. in a cabinet, which is definitely stealthier, you need to buy 120mm computer fans and appropriate converters and cut holes in the back of the cabinet lower ones that blow in with a passive outtake on top or ones on top that blow out with passive intake on the bottom, personally i like passive outtake because more wind is on the plants.
