This sounds very risky. You really need to decide if its safe enough and if 1-2 ounces in 3 months time is really worth getting kicked out of school and being arrested. If i felt my setup was stealthy enough and i knew i wasnt going to get caught I would go through with it. But you never know what could happen.First off NEVER TELL ANYONE your growing make sure your roomates does the same, people cant keep there mouth shut. I would recommend buying either a big tupperware box or even card board box maybe if your only growing 2 plants and are keeping them short(or whatever size you need). You need atleast two fans one oscilating inside the grow box and one sucking air out of the top of the box and if you can get one for intake that would help too. you will need atleast 3 26 watt cfl's per plant for flower (depending on plant height) Veg you need 5500-6500 k bulbs and for flowering you need 2700 k. You will need a temperature gauge as well. You going to need a timer some extension cords and light fixtures to house you bulbs.I dont know if you have walmart near you or home depot but most any hardware store would probably have light socket fixtureshttp://www.geniedoor.com/uploads/light-socket-a-1.jpg This is what you need.

You need to keep your temperature between 70-85 for optimal growth. Growing is way more advanced than what i have listed but this will get you started.

You are going to stink up the building, I guarantee you.....You must do everything you can to prevent that unmistakeable smell. So you will have to spend some money on some good gear.

I dried out about 5 grams in my house the other day to sample and it stunk up my entire house. Even after I sprayed freebreeze everywhere my wife still bitched about the smell.

The responsible thing to do is to tell you not to do this. I was busted for smoking weed in my college dorm room and it made life suck hard for quite a while. And I was just smoking, not growing. After being busted, I was kicked out of my dorm and no longer allowed to live on campus, my full-ride scholarship was gone, and I had to take drug tests once a month and meet with a "counselor" for the rest of my college career. This was at a college which I had foolishly considered to be tolerant of marijuana. With that being said, you seem pretty intent on doing this. So please do yourself a favor and make it completely undetectable. Look at what this guy did and go from there ----->
Well, I built myself a grow cab. It is well worth spending the extra effort to build something like that in your situation. Notice the guy's grow cab has a lock on it which would be a VERY good idea. But the biggest potential problem I see for you is who will know about this grow. You better be 200% confident that neither you nor your roommate will ever get drunk and let it slip out what you are doing. Because then you are officially fucked. It sounds like you have a pretty nice dorm but the college environment is always a difficult place to keep secrets, especially one like this. Best of luck. -/\/\ared

So everyone I think needs to chill out a lil to start..... Andy, my man..., I think you are a little excited yourself. If you are serious about growin, you should use the dorm time as Research and development time not sceptical time.... by that I mean, why not WAIT. wait till you have the ability to live off campus... and you will not have to be so worried all the time. I assume you are a younger student being forced to live on campus....

Just lookin the situation... you Could... start... have your one or two plants... be sketched out by possible maids or friends...

why not get that cool apartment next year you guys were already thinking about getting, giving you a place that is 10000% more safe than any dorm. Also if you wait..... you can SAVE YOUR MONEY on lower quality items.. such as cfls over an hps or mh (which would give you much better buds)

By not doing something somewhat supid (ive known people that have grown in dorms) you will be able to buy much better tools to help you grow MUCH better quality and quantity buds in a MUCH safer location...

Overall dorms=Bad (not yours) House = Good (really safe) Apartment= somewhat safe (people might smell it .. they might not...)

So yeah it will be fun and you will probably get some bud out of it.. its just not worth it...

you can make much better product, only spending money once, and have security handled in a much better way.

Lookin forward to seein what you do come up with in that dorm though.. pics would be nice.. like I said before... its not that its a horrible idea... its just not the best place to grow...
