Question Mold threat? Harvesting in rain?
Hi!

I have this little outdoor garden in the woods, with plants pretty much ready to harvest. I should have harvested last week...

But now it's been raining for 3 days and the weather report says it will keep on raining for the rest of the week too. It's also pretty cold.

Is there a chance that I lose my crop to mold? Should I go out there and harvest everything as soon as possible even if they are all wet? Or should I wait another week and see if the plants and buds get dry?

I appriciate any help!

I've had this same thing happen to me here's what I did...
Wait till the morning (you always want to harvest in the morning anywho)
If it's stopped raining great if not cut them off any who. Give em a gentle
shake and hang em. It'll just take another day or so for each bud.
Don't wait for the rain to stop to harvest especially if it's getting cold.
(If it dips under like 45 I bring my plants in) The 30's can & will kill.

Run a fan in your drying room for the first day, just to dry the excess moisture, then go to a normal slow dry

I did what you said so I harvested them today in the morning. I also manicured them properly and started drying. Now I have some really nice fat buds hanging in my room There was only very little mold, like 1-2%.

It is now total 700 grams (also a bit wet because of the recent rains). How much do you think will remail after drying?

Thanks for the quick relpies for both of you guys!

Nice job on harvesting. We had a killer storm hit while I was out of town. my outdoor grows were in ground and I had a freind cut them down the day before we had 3 inches of rain and a 50 MPH winds. It's unfortunate because I know they could have used two more weeks, but did I do the right thing in cutting early? I know they would have bud rotted or had all broken limbs by the time I got back. Most of the trichs are clear and a few are cloudy. I usually wait until the majority are cloudy. The plants are Blueberry and Mazar x Afghan. As far as weight goes, 75% is water from what i recall. subtract some weight because of the stems and you can figure a reasonable amount of finished bud weight.
