on 120v, you'll be using around 10 amps, meaning one light per circuit

on 240v, you're using have the amperage, and therefore can run twice as many lights on the same sized circuit... most 240v circuits are rated for higher amperage as well, so it boils down to how many lights you'll be using. if only one, and you have a circuit for only the light, go with 120v for simplicity and ease.

as for difference, there is none in the operation of the lamp. 1k is 1k

Mostly what matters, is what kind of outlets you have in your grow room. If they are standard household outlets, you'll need the 120 plug.

yeah, forgot to mention most people make their own outlets, running a wire for that circuit. i use 120v plugs for my 240v ballasts. the power is 240, the outlets look like 120v (other than the fact i've painted them red).

so yes, pay attention to your plugs

i know if you use the 220, or 240 it is better for ur electric bill, unless u use twice as many lights or equipment,. then it will be the same

actually, it's the same; twice the voltage x half the amperage still gives you the same amount. power usage is on the bulb, one thousand watts of power...

120v x 9a = 1080w
240v x 4.5a = 1080w

it also depends on what part of the world you're in. US wall sockets are 120v I think while the UK standard is 240v

i thought powering ur 1000 w with 110 would draw more electricity than with 220.

nope, twice the voltage times half the amperage is the same figure. so, a 1kw bulb uses 1kw of power (plus wasted energy ie 80w) no matter what the voltage (including commercial 400v and up). the higher the voltage, the lower the amperage. power usage stays the same.
