Question first time grower, nyc deisel
alright so i picked up 10 nyc diesel seeds today, the plan is for me and a friends to grow 3 plants indoors. now my basic issue is that i don't completly understand how to setup. i read some grow guides on this sight but because i want to grow 2-3 plants not 30+ i figured i might not need huge expensive lights and equipement, right?

so my current issues are;
lighting- i was thinking about this light;http://www.bustan.ca/product_detail....SID=25&PID=152
mainly because i hear i can use hps lighting all the way through the process

aero/hydro ponics - both sytems seem to cost some cash which i don't mind but we all want to save some money so my question is do i need a aero/hydro ponics set?

i'm sure i'll come accross alot more to ask but for now i think thats about it. thanks in advance for any advice and/or help

I would recommend using HPS, but be aware that you must vent well, especially in enclosed spaces. A typical setup that one would start with would be a bulb, ballast, reflector, inline fan, carbon filter (if odor will be a concern). If you are not experienced with growing, I would advise starting with soil/soilless mix. Much more forgiving than hydro. There are a lot of ways to save money along the way as well, check out some of the DIY threads for ideas. http://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/
I think you could find a better deal on a light system if you looked around a little more too. Check out ebay and do some comparison shopping.

Hey man,

Can't really advise you on your potential setup as I'm a novice myself - looking to get an all-in-one DWC cupboard soon and then the crop is started...

BUT

Last time I was in Amsterdam (last March) I spent pretty much all of my time chuffing fat spliffs of De Dampkring's NYC Diesel.... and it was an utter revelation. For me, nothing touched it. Loved it SO much, the best weed I've ever smoked in ten years hard lung-killing. If you haven't had it before then you're in for a treat - it smells amazing and has a beautiful head high. When I get my cupboard I will for sure be growing NYC Diesel, probably the Soma Seeds variation.

So +rep for you and I hope that it goes well! Keep us updated.

well i have a few new questions...to srart my seeds are starting to sprout slowly out of the the soil pots there in atm, how ever they don't look to good and none of them have any leaves. my first question is how much light should they be getting? also how much watter do they need/how long should the soil be dry so the roots expand? and finaly how long till leaves and the flowering stage?

Watering would depend on the size of the pot. personaly i started mine in 8" planters and 8 o.z. of water everyday and had no problems. "suncoasthydroponicsllc" <-- look this guy up on e-bay. i picked up an HPS 150 fixture with bulb for $78.00 free shipping. i have 5 plants growing off this and ive been averaging 3 to 4 inches of growth a week. but im keeping a steady 80 degree's with 45% humidity. you can check my progress here My First Grow for my progress with weekly photos. take care.
