Default What is the most EFFICIENT grow method for yield?

hi guys I've read a lot of this forum and still wondering something. The common answer is to use cloning. But are the yields that much more efficient? i realize that cloning is faster and smaller buds..or lesser of anyways. But would the extra vegging during a cloning grow equal out as good as going from seed?

i mean i understand that clones are replicas of their momma and all...but given the extra time to veg...would it produce as many buds as the momma could?

Cloning isn't exactly a way to improve your yield. It is more about having an infinite supply of females without having to source seeds, and also a guarantee that they will all have similar growth characteristics. Clones also have the advantage of being sexually mature from the start, unlike seed plants, which will have to veg for a while before they will flower. This doesn't mean that you have to flower clones small, just that you can if you want to.

A clone will produce just as well as a seed plant, if they both are vegged to a similar size.

Upon reading your question again, it occurs to me that you may be asking about SOG growing. A SOG (sea of green) is when lots of smaller plants are tightly packed in together. It can be done from seed, although most growers use clones, for the reasons I mentioned above. The result of a sog is usually an area filled with lots of single "bud on a stick" style plants, aka lollipopping.

There is always debate on whether SOG is the best yielding method. In practical terms, as long as you have a full canopy of buds, it doesn't matter whether they are from one plant in a ScrOG (ie: trained under a net),or lots of individual plants in a SOG. The end yield should be similar.

However, SOG does have the advantage of less veg time, so would work out more cost-effective on a "whole garden" yield calculation (ie: taking veg wattage into account, as well as flowering). The downsides are the fact that small plants need watering more often (if growing in soil), and you can generally get fucked more by the law due to high plant numbers, depending where you live.

Optimal conditions and genetics worth a fuck. Make the investment to do it right the first time. And if u wanna improve from there fim top and scrog them ur yields will blow ur mind

Also cloning during the flowering period has a similar response as fimming, even better actually. Plants can have 8 or more hearty tops, if cloned after 21 days of flowering, and vegged for a short period before flowering them.

Most per watt&sq ft.... Vertical stadium SOG ( if you have height restrictions ) or vertical trees (if you have plenty of space and height and supercrop the crap out of it) hands down, Nothing comes close.dwc, ebb&gro, aeroponics, etc, etc ,, doesnt matter imo... just grow correctly... Look at Heath Robinsons grow... Incredible.. He only used a 400 cmh ,,,, 2.3grm. per watt , no co2!

Heath pops up as Heath here and there ... randomly.

Search on that name for a little history lesson on why he chooses that moniker and then add cannabis or other key search terms using Google to see examples of his work all over the place.
