Default The learning never stops
Thankg goodness for this site. Someone was saying that the baby plants should be transplanted before ending up root bound. I had four plants in small styrofoam cups. I noticed that one had very twisted leaves. It is nice and green, but I had never seem leaves twist sideways. Then today, I the person said a symptom of root bound is leaves twisting sideways. I knew exactly what was going on then. I got them all transplanted. The big one was the one with twisting leaves, so I hope it lives. I didn't remember to cut a couple slices in the roots so that they could grow into the new medium. Should I have done this, and should I pull it up again and put some cuts in the side of the root ball. The roots were absolutely packed up against the sides of the cup. I was in such a hurry to get it transplanted that i forgot to slice into the sides of the root mass. I hate to stress it again by pulling it back up and slicing the sides, but should i do this? The rest of them were a few days younger than the largest, and they were having no problems, so I am pretty sure they will be fine. I just hate to lose that largest one because of this. Here is a pic from a couple days ago. Today it had leaves at an exact sideways direction.

See if you can get babygro's advice on this one. I think he had a discussion here about rootbound problems. VV
