Default Need advice about DRYING and FREEZING weed
I have just cropped my plants. Buds are quite small so would be difficult to hang them. Are they ok on these trays? would cake trays be better, let air flow underneath? they are right by the window so got good air flow. I am a newbie by the way!!

Also... I have frozen weed before and defrosted it no probs.

BUT my questions is... I am going away soon and have another plant i wont have time to dry out before i go. Is it safe to freeze the weed before it is dried and cured??

Thanks

one you should completly manicure the bud before you dry it and 2 you could freeze it fresh but the water content may damage the plant during freezing. should have planned yoiur harvest a little better i guess but its some good looking bud

You can concider speed drying. Al B. Fuct has a DIY dryer that he says will dry your buds in 3 days. Just a tote and a few little computer fans and a heating element ( I think he uses a sodering iron to heat the air he blows into his dryer slightly, and it helps evapourate the water out of the buds as it passes by).
If you have the afternoon and some $ to get the things you need, you could have them dried by Wed.. according to Al. and I have read a bunch of his threads, really smart cat, so it may be worth a read. I am going to do something similar, but I can't offer real world experience as I'm not that far yet (still first grow going)...sorry, but I hope the input helps.

Dry away from the light. In semi darkness with a fan blowing over, not on it. When you go away leave it all in the drying area, that's better than freezing or fast drying. If you put it in jars and can't air it out every day it might mold.

if you gotta get it dry in a hurry(this will effect the tate and burn of the bud slightly),get some of those silica gel packet's that are used to keep electronic good s in their pacakaging dry,put said bud in a jar with a lot of them and they will dry the bud out rapidly, they remove moisture from anything,i do this sometimes when i harvest and needa quick smoke while my bud is curing!!!

Default High res pics!
Here's some decent photos at last... can't you just taste it! mmmmmmm

THESE ARE LOWRIDER AK47

The 3rd pic shows the slightly burnt weed. I left them too long, the leaves went very yellow and when i cropped the weed i noticed it was brown in places. still smokeable i hope.

I had a taster of the good stuff last night,

*I am such a proud mother right now*

THESE ARE ORANGE BUD (a few wks younger than the ak47s.)

They are so tall i have had to tie a net around so they dont get too close to the light. Think this setup is ok?
