I originally went to get some Fox Farm Ocean Forest from the local head shop, but the guy there told me that Happy Frog was the best to start out in. So, me being me, I listened and I bought it for now.

I also bought some Grodan Rockwool cubes, which I plan to start my seedlings out in.

My questions are as follows:

Would it be best to start my seeds in rockwool, transplant to Happy Frog, and then transplant to Ocean Forest? Or should I just go from rockwool straight to Happy Frog through the entire grow.

Should I use fertilizers/nutrients with these soils, or will they be good enough with just water?

How long should I leave my seedlings in just rockwool and a propagation tray before actually planting them in soil?

I would start my seeds out in a damp paper towel until they sprout and then transplant into a soil filled container.I would use soil without any nutes added to it.I would transplant into a 2 to 4 inch container and water(still without fertilizing) for about 10 days or until you see them starting to get out of the sapling stage and into the veg stage.Put either in a sunny spot outside or put under T-5s flourences.I would then transplant into a larger container using your happy frog soil.
I would stay away from rockwool until you get a little experience in growing pot.Going soil is the best and easiest way to learn how to grow.You dont need to add any nutes to your happy frog.It has plenty of nutes in it to last about 3 months or so.So just use plain water with a ph of 7.I also use both happy frog and ocean forrest soils and have had some wonderful results.I hope this helps and goodluck on your grow.Luke
