I'm looking to upgrade my lighting. I have some questions first though. I'm probably going to get a 1000 watt hps/mh and it has a digital ballast, does it really use less power? I'm also thinking about a 600 watt, not sure which will better fit my needs. My room is roughly 4ft. x 6.5ft. and I have anther area that is 8ft. x 2ft. for my future moms, germing and clones I'm using a t5 in there. I have a 400 watt already in my big room and I was wondering if I should just go with the 600watt and the 400 watt or the 400 watt and the 1000watt? I really don't want the electric bill to go sky high. 100 dollar increase is my limit on the elec. bill

i may be wrong on this, but a 1000w uses 1000w, be it magnetic or digital. i think it would be best to say that a digital ballast WASTES less electricity...

as for your 400 and 600 q, i'll answer like this. i can veg 20 plants under a mh, and have 60 clones and 10 moms, all on one 10'x2.5' shelf. the vegging plants right underneath, the moms on the sides, clones outside of them.

when you say you can veg 20 ,plants what watt lamp are you using?1000 or 600 watt? Or 400 watt plus 600 watt? I see what you are saying about it not using less electricity but being more efficient...I should read better...lol. Like I said I got a 400watt but I wanna upgrade to get better bud, so I'm leaning toward the 1000 watt but like I said I don't want my bill to increase more than say 100 dollars.

go with the 600/400 setup, i think its best if power is a concern, a 600 puts out like 90000 lumens and 1000 do like 140000
